Content Creator & Video Editor

About the job

Outbound is building a travel planning app that helps people turn a loose trip idea into something they can actually use. We need content that makes that value easy to understand in seconds.

We are hiring a Content Creator & Video Editor to own short-form video, app walkthroughs, launch assets, product explainers, and social creative around real travel moments.

You will handle both the edit and the content thinking: what to show, what to say, how to package it for each channel, and what audience response tells us about the product.

What you'll do

1. Video and social production

  • Concept, script, source, record, and edit short-form videos that show how Outbound helps with real travel planning moments.
  • Turn app footage, trip examples, screen recordings, and user questions into demos, explainers, launch clips, paid-social tests, and native social videos.
  • Keep a high bar for hooks, pacing, captions, sound, covers, thumbnails, and platform-native formatting.

2. Content planning and launches

  • Build and maintain a practical content calendar around product moments, travel seasons, feature launches, and real itinerary examples.
  • Repurpose one strong product story into multiple formats across TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, X, LinkedIn, email, and landing-page assets.
  • Create the raw material Outbound needs for launches: app recordings, before-and-after planning examples, feature clips, founder snippets, and lightweight ad creative.

3. Publishing and learning

  • Publish, test, and iterate across social channels with a clear read on what is working, what is noise, and what should be tried next.
  • Track comments, questions, objections, saves, shares, watch patterns, and repeated user language so content work improves both growth and product understanding.
  • Build repeatable content formats and a usable asset library that Outbound can keep using as the product and audience grow.

What good looks like

  • Outbound can explain itself in seconds through credible, product-led video and social content.
  • There is a consistent publishing rhythm without the work feeling generic, template-driven, or disconnected from the app.
  • Launches have the content assets they need: demos, short clips, social cuts, covers, and clear product examples.
  • The team can see which hooks, formats, objections, and user questions are worth repeating or turning into product insight.

What we're looking for

  • 2+ years creating, editing, or producing short-form video/social content, with a portfolio or reel you can walk us through.
  • Strong editing judgment across hooks, pacing, retention, captions, sound, covers, thumbnails, and platform behavior.
  • Comfort with video editing tools such as CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, After Effects, or similar.
  • Ability to write simple scripts, captions, and on-screen copy that sound like a person, not a brand deck.
  • Ability to make app footage, travel examples, and product walkthroughs feel specific, useful, and alive.
  • Enough organization to manage a content calendar, asset folders, publishing notes, and performance learnings.
  • A bias toward shipping polished work quickly without needing a large production setup.

Nice to have

  • Experience with travel, consumer apps, app launches, paid social creative, or creator-led growth.
  • Experience using AI video-generation or AI editing tools to create product demos, social cuts, or launch assets faster without making the work feel generic.
  • Motion graphics, app demo, thumbnail, lightweight design, or screen-recording workflow skills.
  • Comfort being on camera, directing creators, or building a small creator network around a product.

Why join Outbound

  • Shape the voice of an early consumer travel product before the content playbook is fixed.
  • Create work with a direct line to product learning, not only impressions and likes.
  • Use real app moments, travel examples, and launch stories instead of generic brand content.
